Are there any issues with the dropped frames indicator on DVR Pro? I never seem to have any dropped frames with DVR pro even when SnagIt or other screen recorders on the same system have many. How is this possible?

In most cases, dropped frames is due to a lack of bandwidth of some component of your system. Some component simply can't keep up with the amount of data being thrown at it.

The dropped frames indicator in DVR Pro works just fine. The reason you rarely see dropped frames is because in most cases you're screen recording digital videos that are dimensionally smaller than 720 x 480.

For instance, uncompressed video captured at 720 x 480 results in a file size of approximately 1.8 gig per minute or about 35 meg each second.

A smaller 640 x 480 video results in about 1.3 gig per minute. Most digital video from the average DVR is even smaller than 640 x 480 therefore the system handles that amount of incoming data with ease.

The result = no dropped frames.
